About the event

Join us for the first lecture in our Winter Series featuring well-known North Fork Chef and Author John Ross on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 4pm at the Southold Town Recreation Center, 970 Peconic Lane, Peconic, NY.

Ross will discuss “The Emergence of a True North Fork Cuisine”.  He has been a professional chef since 1965, and was the chef/owner of Ross' North Fork Restaurant in Southold, NY for 27 years.  Many would consider Ross a pioneer of the Farm to Table movement. He cooked from scratch using local fresh ingredients procured from farm stands, seafood markets, and local wineries at a time when people were embracing convenience foods. He is the author of several books, "The Poetry of Cooking", The Food and Wine of the North Fork, The Story of North Fork Wine, and, recently, Celebrating Fifty Years on the North Fork.

Please join us for this fascinating lecture, part of our “Farm to Table: A Not so New Concept” winter lecture series sponsored by Poliwoda Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
